After the much talked-about “pay as you please” online release of their newest album, In Rainbows, in October. The pioneering UK-based band, Radiohead, will accomplish another feat this evening. The band will perform the album in its entirety to usher in the new year. The pre-recorded performances will be broadcast online at Radiohead.tv and Current.tv. There are crystals, then there are Swarovski. Established by Daniel Swarovski in 1895, the crystal manufacture build a luxury brand through its innovative products and its creative endeavors. One such endeavors is the Swarovski Fashion Rocks event, which took place in October, an affair which blended the best of entertainment and fashion, all for the benefit of The Prince’s Trust, a charity organization that that focus on teens at risk in the UK.

This fusion also inspired a line of crystallized jewelry and accessories, the Swarovski Fashion Rocks Collection. Included are the Philips headphones bejeweled in beautiful Amethyst crystals. The creation of DJ Donna D’Cruz, the New York-based DJ who is staple at parties by Diane von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, and others. The headphones, named Rasa Rocks, in reference to an Indian concept of aestheticism, is currently available at selected Swarovski flagships and luxury goods retailers world wide.

On the ranking of top 10 stories in 2007, British’s publication Creative Review listed a brief write-up on the branding of supermodel Kate Moss as one. Created by the prominent graphic designer Peter Saville, who came to fame with his iconic Joy Dvision/New Order album covers during 70s and 80s. Along with typographer Paul Barnes, who created iconic logos for Wallpaper* magazine, Givenchy, singer Bijork. The team worked on several variations. All of which has to fit Kate Moss, not just as a model, but an representation of today’s young women. Someone who is vulnerable, who make mistakes, yet independent and empowering. Soon, they decided on a variation of the Brodovitch Albro font, which was used first on Harper’s Bazaar during 1930s. The model herself picked the final design and the Kate Moss font was born.

Kate Moss’ signature font made its debut this year at another first for the model - her apparel collaboration with Topshop in London. The font will also appear in any future Kate Moss collaborations and projects.

As 2007 winds to a close in a few weeks, one of the most talked about model on the runway will not be millionaire Gisele Bundchen, or the return of Kate Moss. Neither it will be about the steady raise of Gemma Ward or Daria Werbowy. 2007 will mark as the year Star Von Bunny made it to the top.

Perhaps you never heard of Star Von Bunny, that is because she is a simple stuffed animal - a bunny with a sewn-on twinkle in one eye, brought from a Hallmark card store in California . Created by Kym Canter, the Creative Director for luxury fashion label J. Mendel and a former Editor at Elle, the fictitious biography of Star Von Bunny chronicled her rags-to-riches raise, mingled with the likes of Beyonce, Jean Paul Gaultier, even Bono.

In a world where a common maritime diesel engine can generate thousands of horsepower, why would any commercial freighter return to wind power again. The answers are actually quite simple: to reduce carbon footprint - a popular term in the current eco-concisious world, to save fuel cost - another popular concept in the high oil price environment, and because we can.

Christened this month, the MV Beluga SkySails is a 400+ foot long freighter commissioned by German shipping company Beluga Group. While its appearance is like any another freighter, the MV Beluga SkySails is equipped with a very unique auxiliary propulsion system, a giant kite measured at 1,723 sq. ft. (the vessel will upgrade to a 3,445 sq. ft. version later). Unlike traditional rigs and sails, the mammoth kite will operate at altitude between 300~1,000 feet, where the wind speed is higher and more constant. Beluga Group officials estimate that the creative wind-powered auxiliary propulsion system will generate a fuel saving of 20%~30% , which translate to a saving of low 4-digit in daily operation cost.

The vessel will make its maiden voyage via trans-Atlantic route from Bremen to Venezuela, then to Boston.
