As an creative entity, UVA is unique because of its focus on light and lighting as a artistic medium. Why light?

We initially started designing with light in the context of live performance, but over the years we diversified creating works that people could interact with, touch and experience on a personal level, in some ways we saw this as dissolving the line between the stage and the audience. For us, light as an artistic medium offers many possibilities for expression, it’s a mysterious and powerful phenomena to work with and a never ending process.
